San Francisco passed a new law last month that requires all retailers to display the amount of radiation a cellphone emits. Predictably, that law is now coming under fire from CTIA, the wireless industry group. CTIA has filed a lawsuit to block enforcement of the ordinance.

Local Calling Plans

If you make your phone calls within your own local calling area, then you should get the local calling plan because you get more anytime minutes for the same price. Think of the phone as your home phone you can use on the streets. A local plan usually covers the local area and its greater metro area so the area map for a local plan isn't small.

Local calling plans are based on your use of local calls in minutes. You can phone cell to phone or cell to cell for the same pricing. Your carrier will list your local coverage area, which is generally larger than that of your land phone coverage area in local calling.
